The Materials Library uses a 3-level structure to bridge quick filtering and engineering decisions:
- Material type: broad filtering (e.g., Metals / Plastics / Elastomers).
- Material subcategory: selection and scenario matching (e.g., Aluminum / Stainless Steel / Nylon / ABS).
- Grade / specification: engineering parameters and manufacturability checks (e.g., 6061, 7075, 304, 316, PA12 (SLS/MJF), Clear SLA Resin).
Tip: start with type/subcategory to narrow down options, then confirm strength, temperature resistance, corrosion behavior, finishing, and DFM requirements at the grade level.
